Temporal Bone Invasion by Recurrent Benign Pleomorphic Adenoma of the Parotid Gland

چکیده
Pleomorphic adenoma is the most common neoplasm of the parotid gland. It is associated with the risk of recurrence and malignant transformation. Tumor spillage, incomplete excision, and violation of the tumor pseudocapsule are considered the only proven factors contributing to recurrent disease. The upward spread of recurrent pleomorphic adenoma along the fallopian canal via the stylomastoid foramen is uncommon.

Synchronous Parotid and Homolateral Submandibular Gland Pleomorphic Adenoma
Introduction: Pleomorphic adenomas are benign neoplasms of salivary glands. The simultaneous homolateral occurrence of these tumors in salivary glands is exceedingly rare. Case Report: An adult female presenting to our OPD with the swelling of right-sided preauricular and submandibular regions was diagnosed with the pleomorphic adenoma based on fine needle aspiration c...

متن کاملParotid Lymphoepithelial Cyst in a HIV-Negative Individual: A Case Report
Benign lymphoepithelial cysts of the parotid are common in retropositive patients, but extremely rare in HIV-negative individuals. We present a 28-year-old man who presented with a painless, gradually increasing swelling in the left parotid region and was clinically diagnosed to have a pleomorphic adenoma of the left parotid gland. Preoperative blood investigations revealed that the patient was...
متن کاملMastoid Bone involved by Pleomorphic Adenoma
Pleomorphic adenoma is a benign tumor of the salivary glands, most commonly affecting the parotid gland. Pleomorphic adenoma of the ear is rare. The use of imaging modalities, especially magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), is particularly useful in localizing and surgical planning of these tumors. We present a case of pleomorphic adenoma invading the mastoid cortical bone, with review of literature.
متن کاملMassive Transcranial Parotid Pleomorphic Adenoma: Recurrence after 30 Years*
Pleomorphic adenoma, also known as benign mixed tumor, is the most common tumor affecting the parotid gland and can reach massive size; however, intracranial invasion is rare. Recurrence of pleomorphic adenoma after excision is a well-known phenomenon and can present decades after resection of the primary tumor. Here we present the case of a 53-year-old man who presented to our clinic with ear ...
